Central @ Crescent Valley OSAA 5A Girls Basketball 2-16-2024

Friday night, the Central Panthers visited Crescent Valley to take on the Raiders. The Panthers came out with the 55-42 win.

The game started like most, close and exciting. The Raiders didn't really seem themselves, but that might be sure to the absence of Junior guard, Haley Bland who was out dealing with a knee injury. At the end of one, the score was 13-12, Crescent Valley. 

The second quarter was a bit different. CV shot only 4 for 15 for 9 points while Junior guard, Hadley Craig (#14, pictured below) had 9 points on her own in the quarter. At the half the score was 28-22, Central. 

The 3rd quarter was mostly even, much like the start of the game. Crescent Valley Freshman guards Josie Mansfield (#15, pictured above) and Payton Starwalt (#32, pictured above) scored 5 and 7 points, respectively in the quarter. The score after three was 39-36, Central.

The 4th quarter was all Central as the Raiders had no answer for the Panthers. Both teams finished with two players each in double figures. For the Raiders it was Payton Starwalt (13 points)  and Josie Mansfield (10 points) and for the Panthers it was Hadley Craig (27 points) and Ashley Barba (Senior, #11 pictured above)  with 12 points.
