Crescent Valley vs Corvallis OSAA 5A Girls and Boys Basketball 1-25-2024
Rivalry Games!
Yep, Corvallis High School was the site for this year's first set of Crescent Valley vs Corvallis, rivalry basketball games. Both Corvallis Girls' and Boys' teams came out with wins; 42-50 and 52-67, respectively.
For the girls, Corvallis came out with tough defense that seemed to have Crescent Valley off balance from the beginning. Crescent Valley seemed to have a tough time getting to the hoop early.
While Crescent Valley struggled on offense, Corvallis seemed to have answers around every corner. And although the score doesn't necessarily show, it seemed Corvallis was in complete control the whole night.
The boys' game was more of the same. Corvallis jumped out to an 11-0 lead with Crescent Valley scoring their first point with less than 4 minutes to go in the first quarter.
While Crescent Valley was searching for answers on both ends of the floor, Corvallis was running, shooting and defending very well. Corvallis ran multiple players into the game and were able to run away with this one from the tip.
It was an exciting night in front of a nearly packed gym. I'm sure the next matchup between these schools next month will be fun too.
